Leadership Framework · Roger Godin

The leader is not
the one who shines.

The leader is the one who elevates. A universal framework built on 35 years of high-performance leadership across four continents.

The Central Philosophy

After talking with me,
does this person have more confidence in themselves?

The Elevation Test · The Elevation Code

The Architecture of Elevation

Five Dimensions.
One Complete Leader.

I

The System

"Clarity is an act of love."

Structure is not a constraint. It is the condition for freedom. Every person on your team deserves to know exactly what is expected of them.

II

The Human Leader

"Dignity is a performance lever."

A human leader does not lower the standard. They hold it — with respect. Trust is not a soft value. It is the hardest currency in leadership.

III

The Experience

"Atmosphere is a silent language."

Everything around you speaks before you do. Every detail communicates your leadership. You are either saying something intentionally, or by accident.

IV

The Visionary

"Seeing before others is a responsibility."

Vision is not a gift. It is a discipline. Of observation, of curiosity, of asking: what will seem obvious in six months that is not obvious today?

V

Transformation

"Movement is the condition of the living."

A perfect system that refuses to evolve becomes a prison. Transformation is not a crisis to survive. It is a posture. A daily choice.

The framework was not built in a classroom. It was built under pressure.

It began in France — international missions, opening hotels, learning that a standard held only when you are in the building is not a standard. It is a performance.

Then Koh Samui, Thailand. Less than $400 in the bank. Revenue down over 50%. No Executive Chef. No F&B Manager. Salaries due in three weeks. No support from ownership.

That turnaround worked. So I did what no one expected: I left and built my own company — Asian Phoenix Hotels Management — and applied the framework across three properties simultaneously in Thailand, including one opening and one rebranding.

"Not because I was exceptional. Because I had a complete architecture."

Six hotels across a career. Multiple turnarounds. Four continents. The Elevation Code is what survived every test.

Voices From The Field

Those who led alongside.

“Roger is one of those rare leaders who combines vision with authenticity. He has a natural ability to see what something can become and then bring people together to make it real. What I admire most about Roger is that his leadership is grounded in purpose — he challenges teams to think bigger, care more deeply about the guest experience, and take pride in the impact they create every day. He leads with conviction, humility, and heart, and those qualities leave a lasting impression on the people and organizations fortunate enough to work alongside him.”

Harold Rapoza Jr.Area Vice President, Operations · Hilton

“Roger brings something rare: the ability to build structure without losing soul. At Infinity Samui, he trained the team, developed procedures, and elevated the operation — all simultaneously. He is a hard worker who puts his full energy and expertise in service of the company’s growth.”

Thierry NaiduCEO · Phoenix Hotel Management Collection · Eze, France

“Roger led our boutique golf and spa estate with talent — raising service standards to match our ambitions. His attention to the guest experience at every stage, his commercial instinct, and his ability to lead teams make him a precious asset for any establishment that seeks to differentiate through excellence.”

Laurent BoissonnasOwner · Château de la Bégude · Resonance Golf Collection · Côte d’Azur

“Four years of exemplary professionalism and unwavering dedication. Roger is genuinely passionate about his craft as a hotel and restaurant General Manager. He built a competent and motivated team, created a productive atmosphere focused on guest satisfaction, and managed both costs and commercial development with equal discipline.”

The Framework

What The Elevation Code
is built on.

Leadership is not a personality trait. It is an architecture. After 35 years leading hotels across four continents — from Paris to Koh Samui, from the Cote d’Azur to Bora Bora — one conviction has never changed: sustainable performance is born from the union of system and humanity.

The Elevation Code is not a management theory. It is a field-tested framework, built under real pressure, refined through real failures, and proven across cultures, industries, and crises. It draws from the greatest leaders of sport, luxury hospitality, industry, and humanism — from Ohno to Nelson Mandela, from the standards of Ritz Carlton to the discipline of the All Blacks.

The book delivers five dimensions of total leadership — as rigorous as it is human, as operational as it is enduring. A complete architecture for those who elevate others.

Who it is for

General Managers and hotel directors. Team leaders navigating turnarounds. Executives who know that excellence requires both system and soul. Anyone who has asked: who did I elevate today?

What makes it different

No abstract theory. Every concept in this book was tested in a real hotel, with a real team, under real stakes. The framework survived six turnarounds across four continents. It works because it was never designed in a classroom.

The central question

“The leader is not the one who shines. The leader is the one who elevates.”

Drawing from the greatest leaders of sport, luxury hospitality, industry, and humanism, this book delivers a complete framework for total leadership, as rigorous as it is human, as operational as it is enduring.

The Book

A complete architecture
for those who elevate others.

The Elevation Code draws from four worlds that leadership books rarely bring together: sport, luxury hospitality, industry and technology, and humanism. Bill Walsh. Horst Schulze. Taiichi Ohno. Nelson Mandela. Conrad Hilton.

Four worlds. One truth: structure and humanity do not oppose each other. They complete each other.

Luxury Hospitality · French Polynesia.
Founder, The Elevation Code.

Roger Godin has spent 35 years in international hospitality leadership across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. His career began making beds. It grew through turnarounds, openings, and the kind of pressure that reveals whether a framework actually works.

He founded Asian Phoenix Hotels Management in Thailand — an independent vehicle that applied The Elevation Code framework across three properties simultaneously in Thailand, including one hotel opening and one rebranding. That experience became the proof of scale.

Today he leads Conrad Bora Bora Nui, one of the most exceptional luxury resorts in the world, as General Manager — and transmits everything he learned through The Elevation Code: that the best leaders are not those who shine, but those who make others shine.
